There are ghosts.
Contrary to belief, people can’t walk through ghosts.
You wouldn’t get close enough to.
When you go into a room and stand there forgetting what you went in for? That’s because a ghost turned you away. Or rather, a part of your brain you don’t use tells you to let them be.
If you don’t sit on a particular seat even though you were heading for it, changing your mind at the last moment? That’s because there’s a ghost in that chair. Your subconscious mind suggests you pick another seat.
The dark alleyway. The empty house. The unsettling feeling of being watched.
The puff of wind on a still day. The sudden quiet of animals in a forest.
The empty seat in a sold-out theatre . . .
People avoid ghosts without even knowing it.
Unless the ghost decides otherwise.
All I want is a hug.
