Unreliable Narrator

These were characters of her own creation, set loose in the real world.

To see them getting along so well brought light to her heart. There was nothing quite so perfect, not even her children – who were bickering all the time lately, and just would not listen to her; giving credit to not a word she said.

In truth, her characters really did have to get on with solving their latest case, but Jane couldn’t bring herself to interrupt them. There was something blossoming out there.

Even if they’d had a shaky start to their early working relationship, it was quite inevitable that the two of them would end up getting together.

She could see it in the looks they gave each other; in the one-liners that they teased each other with.
